About this collection

Kenneth L. Brown was a nonviolent activist and educator for peace and justice. For 25 years, he directed the nation’s oldest peace studies program at Manchester College, serving as a consultant to peace studies programs across the country and around the world. In 2005, Brown received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Peace and Justice Studies Association.

The collection includes sermons, speeches, papers, pamphlets, letters, reflections, and satirical pieces written from 1956, when Brown was a student at Bethany Theological Seminary to 2008, when he spoke at a reception celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of peace studies at Manchester College.
